She said he didn’t seem drunk but was drinking and seemed like a nice guy. Then saw me outside by the pool talking to one of those guys and I was drinking at that point. But I’ve never seen him before in my life, she didn’t recognize him. She asked if I knew the guy and apparently I said yes and insisted I was fine.

I would say you would benefit from asking yourself is it worth it to try and help him see that just because things change or things aren't perfect that doesn't mean you don't care for him or will leave him.
