If their plan works, then no adjustment is needed and they'll find someone great. I don't see how you can justify being so hung up on how other people want to decide things for themselves. Even so, if someone's expectations are unreasonable, they will be unsuccessful and have to adjust their expectations. But stop trying to impose your will on everyone else -- they think it works just fine. It's a risk that people are willing to take because the potential reward is priceless. If you don't like this style of dating, no one's making you do it.
