Plus this friend admitted he wanted to get with his GF...so this friend is sticking around for other reasons other than friendship......he's into her sexually. The OP never said anything about "giving up" her friend, but to adjust what they do together out of respect for the relationship.

I am new starting out in my profession because it required years of schooling which I have recently completed, and have yet to find a job that I really enjoy. I make $20 an hour working from home - the money is not nearly enough to pay off my astounding student loan debt, and working from home makes me depressed.

She seems to love your personality and she must think you’re really attractive. She’s infatuated with you. I assuming she is very attracted to you. That is hard to come by and you should take this opportunity, unless you don’t want to, then again you said she was hot so why not! She seems to want to build a relationship with you, the signs are all there. I had a friend of mine be infatuated over a girl for about a year and he never knew her.
