Worth a shot. However, I know people who have used pay sites and have had great results.

I think he looks hot (he doesn't know that) and he tells me he thinks I am very attractive. We have seen each others pictures by the way.

He asked how things were first, I didn't really feel like talking about it as the situation had robbed me of enough of my time as it was....but as it was my BF asking....so you go with talking and sharing how you feel.

"Sweet" is often the label applied to me, and I don't dislike it. Because that's not what they took you for and therefore its not going to work for them. I too am what you would consider a nice person. What I hate is that people often confused kindness for weakness. If you do have some self esteem and won't allow yourself to be walked over as your kind, humble demeanor suggests, they react negatively. Why?

She didn't come across as wanting to cause drama, just wanting to give me a heads up that, based on what he did to his ex-wife and her, that he might do that to me too since they'd broken up only a week before he and I met in person. She messaged me because he is not discreet about us, and she wanted to warn me of him, since he initiated a relationship with her quickly and l-bombed her after only a couples weeks of them meeting in person then left her just as quick.

I will admit, that's just plain weird. So that obviously makes sense. At first I thought he might have gone for it and you shot him down. Haha.. He did what?

As to the rest, yes there are some fine lines between fwb and relationship, but you are really expecting pretty much 95% relationship behaviour.
